Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Green-Hide Jack At The Mail-Box, 1950 by Russell Drysdale was sold in the Australian Art auction at Christies in London in October 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 217,250.00 (€ 270,112.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Russell Drysdale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian rocky Mccormack in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 1,890,000.00 (€ 1,103,283.80).

Die Arbeit Green-Hide Jack At The Mail-Box, 1950 von Russell Drysdale wurde im Oktober 2012 in der Auktion Australian Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 217.250,00 (€ 270.112,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Russell Drysdale auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian rocky Mccormack im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.890.000,00 (€ 1.103.283,80).
