Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation, which included the work The Serpentine, Hyde Park, London by David Muirhead Bone. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,115.88), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by David Muirhead Bone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Soho Square, London in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,783.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Serpentine, Hyde Park, London von David Muirhead Bone zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.115,88) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Muirhead Bone auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Soho Square, London im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.287,50 (€ 8.783,59).
