This artwork by David Muirhead Bone achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2008. In the A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation auction, the work Oxford sold for GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,360.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Admittedly, works by David Muirhead Bone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Soho Square, London in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,783.59).

In der Auktion A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation wurde die Arbeit Oxford für GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.360,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Muirhead Bone auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Soho Square, London im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.287,50 (€ 8.783,59).
