Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work High Street, Edinburgh by David Muirhead Bone for GBP 625.00 (€ 755.67). This price was achieved in the auction A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Muirhead Bone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Soho Square, London in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,783.59).
