It achieved a price of GBP 1,188.00 (€ 1,436.38), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 49%. Admittedly, works by David Muirhead Bone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Soho Square, London in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,783.59).

Die Arbeit Battle, Sussex von David Muirhead Bone kam im November 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.188,00 (€ 1.436,38) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 49%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Muirhead Bone auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Soho Square, London im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.287,50 (€ 8.783,59).
