Sold at the lower estimate price
In December 2018 Christies in London held the auction Topographical Pictures with Australian Art, which included the work Three scrapbooks by Charles D'Oyly. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,342.27) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles D'Oyly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pushkar, India, with a parade of figures, elephants and horses in the foreground in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,039.47).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Topographical Pictures with Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three scrapbooks von Charles D'Oyly zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.342,27) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles D'Oyly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pushkar, India, with a parade of figures, elephants and horses in the foreground im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.039,47).
