Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Visnupad Temple At Hindu Gaya by Charles D'Oyly was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,156.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Charles D'Oyly have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2011 the work Pushkar, India, with a parade of figures, elephants and horses in the foreground was auctioned for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,039.47).
