In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction West ~ East - The Niall Hobhouse Collection, which included the work Tom Raw's dream of a winged Hindu deity by Charles D'Oyly. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 750.00 (€ 954.03), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles D'Oyly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pushkar, India, with a parade of figures, elephants and horses in the foreground in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,039.47).
