A top price for Charles D'Oyly - as previously expected
The work Pushkar, India, with a parade of figures, elephants and horses in the foreground by Charles D'Oyly was sold in the Art of the Islamic and Indian Worlds auction at Christies in London in October 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,039.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Pushkar, India, with a parade of figures, elephants and horses in the foreground is the most expensive artwork by Charles D'Oyly that we have observed at auctions so far.
