Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saturn V Rocket Engine by Simon Norfolk was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,790.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Simon Norfolk have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Former Teahouse in a park next to the Afghan Exhibition of Economic and Social Achievements in the Shah Shahid district of Kabul in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,624.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Saturn V Rocket Engine von Simon Norfolk wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.790,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon Norfolk auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Former Teahouse in a park next to the Afghan Exhibition of Economic and Social Achievements in the Shah Shahid district of Kabul im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.624,78).
