This artwork by Shyamal Dutta Ray achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2008. In the Indian Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 13,445.11) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Shyamal Dutta Ray; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in September 2008 with the realized price of USD 35,000.00 (€ 24,856.19).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Shyamal Dutta Ray erzielte im März 2008 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Indian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 21.250,00 (€ 13.445,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Shyamal Dutta Ray; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 24.856,19).
