Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Shyamal Dutta Ray was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,895.63). Admittedly, works by Shyamal Dutta Ray have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 24,856.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Shyamal Dutta Ray im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.895,63) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shyamal Dutta Ray auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 24.856,19).
