Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Shyamal Dutta Ray could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (Two Men); Untitled (Horse Rider) changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,228.84) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shyamal Dutta Ray have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 24,856.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shyamal Dutta Ray konnte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Two Men); Untitled (Horse Rider) für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.228,84) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shyamal Dutta Ray auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 24.856,19).
