Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Praying For Rain) by Shyamal Dutta Ray for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,496.88). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Shyamal Dutta Ray have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 24,856.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Praying For Rain) von Shyamal Dutta Ray für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.496,88) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shyamal Dutta Ray auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 24.856,19).
