Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Shyamal Dutta Ray was sold in the Contemporary Art Asia: Including a Collection of Works by Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita auction at Christies in New York in September 2019. The price achieved of USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,292.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shyamal Dutta Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 24,856.19).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Shyamal Dutta Ray wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia: Including a Collection of Works by Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.292,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shyamal Dutta Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 24.856,19).
