Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Two Plates by Hamada Shoji. The price achieved of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,316.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hamada Shoji have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hamada Shoji (1894-1978) in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 19,200.00 (€ 15,133.60).
