A top price for Hamada Shoji - as previously expected
The work Hamada Shoji (1894-1978) by Hamada Shoji was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2006. The price achieved of USD 19,200.00 (€ 15,133.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Hamada Shoji (1894-1978) is the most expensive artwork by Hamada Shoji that we have observed at auctions so far.
