This artwork by Shirō Kuramata achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Cologne in June last year. In the Living Contemporary auction, the work How High the Moon armchair sold for EUR 11,970.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 6,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shirō Kuramata achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Miss Blanche' chair in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 2,240,000.00 (€ 255,777.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 84 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shirō Kuramata erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Köln einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Living Contemporary wurde die Arbeit How High the Moon armchair für EUR 11.970,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 6.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shirō Kuramata erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Miss Blanche' chair im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.240.000,00 (€ 255.777,86).
