The work A pair of 'How High the Moon' armchairs by Shirō Kuramata was sold in the Masterpieces of Design & Photography auction at Christies in London in October 2017. It achieved a price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,355.38), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. Admittedly, works by Shirō Kuramata have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Miss Blanche' chair in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 2,240,000.00 (€ 255,777.86).

Die Arbeit A pair of 'How High the Moon' armchairs von Shirō Kuramata wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion Masterpieces of Design & Photography bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.355,38) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shirō Kuramata auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Miss Blanche' chair im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.240.000,00 (€ 255.777,86).
