A top price for Shirō Kuramata - as previously expected
The work 'Miss Blanche' chair by Shirō Kuramata was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Evening Sale auction at Phillips in Hong Kong in May 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 2,200,000.00 – 3,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 2,240,000.00 (€ 255,777.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, 'Miss Blanche' chair is the most expensive artwork by Shirō Kuramata that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit 'Miss Blanche' chair von Shirō Kuramata wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Evening Sale bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 2.200.000,00 – 3.200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 2.240.000,00 (€ 255.777,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist 'Miss Blanche' chair das teuerste Kunstwerk von Shirō Kuramata, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
