Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2017 Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work We Are Here To Stay by Shay Kun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,569.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shay Kun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Naked In Death, which sold at auction in March 2015 for USD 28,125.00 (€ 26,184.71).
