This artwork by Shay Kun achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2012. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Erupted Minds sold for USD 28,125.00 (€ 21,092.70) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Shay Kun; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Naked In Death sold at auction in March 2015 with the realized price of USD 28,125.00 (€ 26,184.71).
