Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sentry by Seymour Lipton was sold in the Post-War to Present auction at Christies in New York in September 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,901.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Seymour Lipton have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2018 the work The Angry Poet was auctioned for USD 32,500.00 (€ 27,763.54).

Die Arbeit Sentry von Seymour Lipton wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion Post-War to Present bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.901,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Seymour Lipton konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juli 2018 die Arbeit The Angry Poet für USD 32.500,00 (€ 27.763,54) versteigert.
