Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pioneer by Seymour Lipton was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,738.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Seymour Lipton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Angry Poet in July 2018 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 27,763.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pioneer von Seymour Lipton kam im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.738,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Seymour Lipton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Angry Poet im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 27.763,54).
