Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Seymour Lipton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2016. In the Living With Art auction, the work All Directions; and two companion studies sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 18,402.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Seymour Lipton; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Angry Poet sold at auction in July 2018 with the realized price of USD 32,500.00 (€ 27,763.54).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Seymour Lipton erzielte im Februar 2016 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Living With Art wurde die Arbeit All Directions; and two companion studies für USD 20.000,00 (€ 18.402,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Seymour Lipton; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Angry Poet im Juli 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 27.763,54).
