Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2006 Phillips in New York held the auction Design & Design Art, which included the work Important prototype "Steel Furniture" table by Scott Burton. Here, the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 74,400.00 (€ 56,376.45). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Scott Burton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pair of Granite Chairs, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 156,500.00 (€ 224,744.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2006 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Design & Design Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Important prototype "Steel Furniture" table von Scott Burton zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 74.400,00 (€ 56.376,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Scott Burton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pair of Granite Chairs beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 156.500,00 (€ 224.744,30) versteigert wurde.
