In October 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Online | New York, which included the work Quilt #19 (Rockstar) by Sanford Biggers. The »bidding war« ended at USD 40,000.00 (€ 35,858.36), 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sanford Biggers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Banneker, which sold at auction in March last year for USD 138,600.00 (€ 124,943.66).

Im Oktober 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit Quilt #19 (Rockstar) von Sanford Biggers zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 35.858,36) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Sanford Biggers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Banneker beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 138.600,00 (€ 124.943,66) versteigert wurde.
