Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Sanford Biggers was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2019. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,133.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sanford Biggers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Banneker in March last year with an auction result of USD 138,600.00 (€ 124,943.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Sanford Biggers kam im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.133,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sanford Biggers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Banneker im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 138.600,00 (€ 124.943,66).
