Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Race Track Martyrs II by Sanford Biggers. The price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,376.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sanford Biggers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Banneker in March last year with an auction result of USD 138,600.00 (€ 124,943.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Race Track Martyrs II von Sanford Biggers zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.376,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sanford Biggers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Banneker im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 138.600,00 (€ 124.943,66).
