This artwork by Sanford Biggers achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in September 2021. In the New Now auction, the work Neroluce sold for USD 75,600.00 (€ 65,301.89) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sanford Biggers; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Banneker sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of USD 138,600.00 (€ 124,943.66).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sanford Biggers erzielte im September 2021 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde die Arbeit Neroluce für USD 75.600,00 (€ 65.301,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Sanford Biggers; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Banneker im März letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 138.600,00 (€ 124.943,66).
