Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Flowers, from Tulip series by Sam Gilliam was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,970.00 (€ 13,219.15) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sam Gilliam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lady Day II in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,172,500.00 (€ 1,918,661.13).
