It achieved a price of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,943.31), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 30%. Admittedly, works by Rupert Jasen Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greta Garbo in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,013.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Homage to Andy Warhol von Rupert Jasen Smith kam im Oktober 2015 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.943,31) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 30%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rupert Jasen Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Greta Garbo im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 15.013,23).
