This artwork by Ron Davis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in July 2019. In the Contemporary Art Online | New York auction, the work Yellow Hinge sold for USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,546.27) - well above the upper estimate of USD 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ron Davis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in July 2013 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 61,173.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ron Davis erzielte im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York wurde die Arbeit Yellow Hinge für USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.546,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 4.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ron Davis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 61.173,02).
