Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ron Gorchov achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2021. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Plato sold for USD 103,125.00 (€ 84,570.28) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ron Gorchov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work General, which sold at auction in June this year for GBP 152,800.00 (€ 177,832.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ron Gorchov erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Plato für USD 103.125,00 (€ 84.570,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ron Gorchov mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit General beobachtet, die im Juni diesen Jahres für GBP 152.800,00 (€ 177.832,89) versteigert wurde.
