The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,760.00 (€ 5,442.18), 65% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rockwell Kent achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gray Day in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 852,500.00 (€ 805,917.94).

Die Arbeit Fair Wind von Rockwell Kent wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 5.760,00 (€ 5.442,18) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rockwell Kent erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gray Day im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 852.500,00 (€ 805.917,94).
