Auction result well in line with expectations
In August last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Discovery Online, which included the work Big Baby (Greenland Mother) by Rockwell Kent. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200.00 – 400.00, the actual price achieved of USD 216.75 (€ 215.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rockwell Kent achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gray Day in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 852,500.00 (€ 805,917.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Discovery Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Big Baby (Greenland Mother) von Rockwell Kent zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 216,75 (€ 215,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rockwell Kent erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gray Day im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 852.500,00 (€ 805.917,94).
