Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Am I Aiming Over Your Head - For Paul Thek), from 1989: A Portfolio Honoring Artists Lost to AIDS by Robert Wilson was auctioned at Phillips in London in June last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 126.00 (€ 146.38). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Wilson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Civil War Act I, II, III, IV, V, 72 works in October 2012 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 43,409.48).
