It achieved a price of USD 43,750.00 (€ 37,158.15), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Capa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Death of a Loyalist Soldier, which sold at auction in April 2018 for USD 162,500.00 (€ 134,586.72).

Die Arbeit D-Day Landing, Omaha Beach, Normandy von Robert Capa kam im Juli 2020 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 37.158,15) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Capa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Death of a Loyalist Soldier beobachtet, die im April 2018 für USD 162.500,00 (€ 134.586,72) versteigert wurde.
