Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Israel Refugee, C. 1950 by Robert Capa was auctioned at Christies in Paris in May 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 625.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Capa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Death of a Loyalist Soldier in April 2018 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 134,586.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Israel Refugee, C. 1950 von Robert Capa im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 625,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Capa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Death of a Loyalist Soldier im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 134.586,72).
