Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Flower) by Richard Hambleton was sold in the Contemporary Discoveries auction at Sothebys in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,543.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Hambleton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work As The World Burns - 1983 in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 474,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Flower) von Richard Hambleton wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.543,41) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Hambleton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit As The World Burns - 1983 im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 474.000,00.
