Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Bonhams held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Standing Shadowman by Richard Hambleton. The price achieved of GBP 151,500.00 (€ 172,360.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 130,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Hambleton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work As The World Burns - 1983, which sold at auction in June 2018 for EUR 474,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Standing Shadowman von Richard Hambleton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 151.500,00 (€ 172.360,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 130.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Hambleton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit As The World Burns - 1983 beobachtet, die im Juni 2018 für EUR 474.000,00 versteigert wurde.
