Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Portrait Head) by Richard Hambleton. The price achieved of USD 11,475.00 (€ 10,770.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Hambleton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work As The World Burns - 1983 in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 474,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Portrait Head) von Richard Hambleton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.475,00 (€ 10.770,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Hambleton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit As The World Burns - 1983 im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 474.000,00.
