Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Richard Estes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May this year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Grossinger's sold for USD 441,000.00 (€ 413,929.04) - well above the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Estes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gifts of Nature, which sold at auction in March this year for USD 1,284,000.00 (€ 1,181,015.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Estes erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Grossinger's für USD 441.000,00 (€ 413.929,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Estes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gifts of Nature beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für USD 1.284.000,00 (€ 1.181.015,45) versteigert wurde.
