Auction result well in line with expectations
The work El Pobre by Remedios Varo was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2020. The price achieved of USD 75,600.00 (€ 63,274.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Remedios Varo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Armonía (Autorretrato Sugerente) in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 6,186,800.00 (€ 5,508,681.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit El Pobre von Remedios Varo kam im November 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 63.274,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Remedios Varo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Armonía (Autorretrato Sugerente) im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.186.800,00 (€ 5.508.681,33).
