This artwork by Remedios Varo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in November this year. In the Surrealism Beyond Reality auction, the work Sofa maqueta sold for USD 35,840.00 (€ 32,856.62) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Remedios Varo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Armonía (Autorretrato Sugerente) in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 6,186,800.00 (€ 5,508,681.33).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Remedios Varo erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Surrealism Beyond Reality wurde die Arbeit Sofa maqueta für USD 35.840,00 (€ 32.856,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Remedios Varo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Armonía (Autorretrato Sugerente) im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.186.800,00 (€ 5.508.681,33).
