Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Microcosmos (Determinismo) by Remedios Varo was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. The price achieved of USD 1,820,000.00 (€ 1,620,514.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Remedios Varo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Armonía (Autorretrato Sugerente), which sold at auction in June 2020 for USD 6,186,800.00 (€ 5,508,681.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Microcosmos (Determinismo) von Remedios Varo wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.820.000,00 (€ 1.620.514,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Remedios Varo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Armonía (Autorretrato Sugerente) beobachtet, die im Juni 2020 für USD 6.186.800,00 (€ 5.508.681,33) versteigert wurde.
