Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work El Labrador by Remedios Varo. It changed hands for a price of USD 88,200.00 (€ 73,819.89) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Remedios Varo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Armonía (Autorretrato Sugerente) in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 6,186,800.00 (€ 5,508,681.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit El Labrador von Remedios Varo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 88.200,00 (€ 73.819,89) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Remedios Varo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Armonía (Autorretrato Sugerente) im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.186.800,00 (€ 5.508.681,33).
