Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work On éventre by Raymond Mason was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 25.00 (€ 19.95). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raymond Mason achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View Of St Mark'S Place, East Village, New York City As Seen Through The Window Of The Village East Coffee Shop in June 2010 with an auction result of EUR 60,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit On éventre von Raymond Mason im Oktober 2014 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 25,00 (€ 19,95) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Raymond Mason erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View Of St Mark'S Place, East Village, New York City As Seen Through The Window Of The Village East Coffee Shop im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 60.750,00.
