Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled (Empire) by Ray Johnson was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,178.83). Admittedly, works by Ray Johnson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Comb in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 55,800.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Empire) von Ray Johnson kam im Dezember 2021 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.178,83) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ray Johnson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Comb im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 55.800,26).
