Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape (Cityscape with black orb) by Ray Johnson was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in London in December last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,276.00 (€ 3,698.28) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ray Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Comb in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 55,800.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscape (Cityscape with black orb) von Ray Johnson wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 3.276,00 (€ 3.698,28) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ray Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Comb im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 55.800,26).
